WEEKs 9-16 TEST Advantage

You may have the following test advantages for Friday's Test.
You may have 5 Note Cards that have 1 word and the corresponding definition per card.  You may also have 3 Note cards that have 1 pre-fix and its definition per card.

Weekly Test

Each week students will take a Word Study Test that assess 10 words given to them a week prior.

Words are given orally and students will record them on the test.  This will create a word bank for the rest of the test.  Students will lose a quarter of a point for each word spelled incorrectly.

Definitions of each word are listed at the bottom of the test.  Students are to match the word with the correct definition.

On the back of the test, students are tested on 5 words from a previous week.  The format is either multiple choice or close.

Example: The air outside was quite (consent, frigid, slumber), therefore we needed to make sure we wore a heavy coat, gloves, and a hat.

Test Corrections

Students have the opportunity to make test corrections for the Weeks 1-8 Test.  Each correction that they make will earn them half credit back to the overall score.

Each correction must consist of providing the correct term, its definition, and a sentence.

Below are two examples:
3. Loiter – to hang around without a purpose.
The boys loitered around the baseball field after the game and really did not have any purpose for being there.

15. Sinister – behavior that is performed with bad intentions.
The little boy’s sinister behavior got him sent to the principal’s office nearly every day.
