Each year, the sixth grade kicks off the school year with a grade level retreat. Students work on building themselves as a cohesive unit through activities, guest speakers, and games. This year's theme was "Do Something" based off of Matthew West's popular song. Students were challenged to step up, use their talents and make a difference by doing something. They were reminded as Mother Teresa once said we may not all be able to do great things, but if we all do small things with great love, we can make an unbelievable impact.
Service To Others
PuttingTogether Goody Bags
The sixth grade looks for opportunities throughout the year to provide serve to others. The bulk of their service benefits Riley Children's Hospital and the Ronald McDonald House. Some of the projects that sixth grade does include putting together goody bags with prayer cards, making placemats, and creating friendship bracelets. Students are always looking for opportunities to give back. Students have also had a strong influence in collecting money and supplies to benefit other charities and causes.
